The Beginning of Our Store’s Legacy
In 1875, William Henry Leuty, affectionately known as Henry Leuty, built a grand two-story wood frame store on the north corner of State and Maine. This iconic building quickly became a cornerstone of the community.
The Huron Times advertised its grand opening, showcasing an array of spring and summer goods, Mme. Demorest’s fashions, and the latest styles—all at New York prices. Leuty’s store promised unbeatable deals, a full assortment of millinery, fancy goods, groceries, and even hardware. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into our store's rich history!
